  • Cooling the Tap Tower

My Tap Tower is 34” from my Kegerator. I keep my Kegerator at a steady 34 degrees. I put a Tower Cooler in and I can only get my Tap Tower to 54 degrees. Any suggestions?
    THANKS!!

How is the cooler routed to the tower? What is the exit temp of the air from the cooler line and do you have a return path for the air?

No I don’t have a return path for the air. The air exiting then hose in the tower is 54 degrees. I have the air pump in the back low down where it’s should be coldest.

That uninsulated line isn’t going to keep your 34 degree air cold, you don’t have a tower cooler problem you have an insulation problem. Both the beer line and air line need to be in an insulated conduit. Your beer is going to be foamy like crazy - you need constant temp from the keg to the faucet.

          which Bethel are you in?

It’s your name! Got it. There are something like 30 towns in the US named Bethel.

What do you think to use to insulate the lines?

To start you want to put the lines in a PVC tube from where they leave the kegerator to the faucet. The cold air should come out of your cooler line right at the faucet, and then return back to the kegerator through the PVC. This will cool the beer line which you also need to do. There should be no air gaps along the way.

You wouldn’t happen to know where I could buy the corrugated black tubing to use for the air pump?

Thanks. I found some different stuff, a little stiffer but worked great. I put the lines in a 11/2” pvc pipe. And insulated it. Seems like that’s going to work. Thanks for all your help..

I got the tap down to 39! Degrees... I have a 33 temp now in the Kererator. Can you get the 39 degree tap down more. What do you think I could do to bring itdown more?

That’s pretty good, typically a bar will serve at 38 degrees.
